Police detonated bomb attached to Tuktuk in Mogadishu

Somali Police in Mogadishu said one person was injured on Friday after police safely detonated a bomb attached to TUK-TUK.

Banaadir Regional police Deputy Commander Ali Dhuh said the Tuktuk driver was slightly after the bomb was detonated in the vicinity of Fathi restaurant around Taleh junction in Mogadishu.

According to the deputy police commissioner, they recovered four AK47s and hand grenades.

´´The police have successfully detonated a bomb which was attached to a Tuktuk in Fathi restaurant. The Tuktuk driver has sustained minor injuries,´´ Banaadir Regional police Deputy Commander Ali Dhuh told reporters.

Meanwhile, a suicide car bomb targeted a military base in Kalabayr area in central Somalia’s Hiran region on Friday, days after authorities in the region announced that they would launch an offensive against Islamist insurgents.

Takar Subagle, who was the commander of elections security in Beledweyne was among three soldiers who were killed in a suicide car bomb targeted Somali troops.

Alshabab has claimed the responsibility of the attack.
