Former Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble leaves the country for Saud Arabia for Hajj

Former Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has on Monday departed the capital Mogadishu for Saudi Arabia. The purpose of his travel is to join thousands of Muslims across the World who have gathered in Mecca in a bid to perform Hajj pilgrimage. The outgoing deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Khadar Guleid and members of the outgoing cabinet saw him off at Mogadishu's Aden Abdulle International Airport.   Hajj, the Islamic Pilgrimage to Mecca is this year expected to happen without restrictions since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic which had disrupted and calling of the number of attendees for 2020 and 2021 respectively. This year's Hajj is set to begin in the evening of Thursday, 7 July and end on in the evening of Tuesday, 12 July next week. There are five pillars in Islam, Hajj is the last and fifth pillar. Others shahadah (statement of faith),Salat (daily prayer), sawm (fasting), zakat (giving of alms).
