Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre meets with the Directors of the National Statistics Agency
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre held discussions with officials from the Somali National Statistics Agency (SNSA). The meeting between Prime Minister Hamza Barre and the Board of Directors of the agency occurred on Sunday in the capital Mogadishu. During the meeting which took place at the Office of the Prime Minister in the National capital, Barre and the SNSA directors centred around important issues. Key among the issues that featured in the discussions include the importance of conducting an official population census across the country. Somalia has only carried out one successful census which was conducted in 1975. The current population of Somalia stands at 16,779,451 as of Monday, as per the based Worldometer elaboration of the latest United Nations data.
