In a quick rejoinder, to the appointment of Barre as Somali PM, Ethiopia's government stopped and scuttled a ceremony that was scheduled to be held in Jigjiga town to welcome and celebrate the historic decision of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. In the last five years, Ethiopia and Somalia have enjoyed good diplomatic relations which has seen the severing of ties with the neighboring countries by the former administration.
