Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre appoints Veteran journalist Farhan Jimale as the Government Spokesman

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has on Sunday appointed veteran journalist Farhan Jimale as the Spokesperson for the Somali Government and the Director of Communications. Farhan will also assume the role of Senior Media advisor to the Prime Minister. Jimaale is now the head of BBC Somali and is expected in the coming days to take over the mantle from his predecessor Mohamed Ibrahim who has since been elected as MP of the Lower House. The PM also made several other appointments in his first week in office after officially taking over the power from former Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble. Former Director General at the constitutional ministry Zubeyr has been named as PM's Permanent Secretary, Abdullahi Sharif becomes chief protocol while major Maslah is new chief security. Hashim Mohamed has been appointed as the Director of Admin and and Finance. Barre is set in the coming days to name members of his Cabinet.
