Somalia's Galmudug and South West State leaders return to Dhusamerab and Baidoa towns respectively
Somalia's Galmudug State President Ahmed Qoorqoor has returned to Dhusamerab,the administrative capital of Galmudug State after successful working trip to Mogadishu. The regional leader jetted back on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Qoorqoor was welcomed at the airport by his Vice President Ali Eid, regional ministers, MPs of both council of the State and other members of the public. Meanwhile, his South West State counterpart Abdiaziz Hassan Lafta-Garen also on Thursday returned to Baidoa, the interim capital of South West tafter days of being in the capital Mogadishu. Lafta-Garen and his delegation were received at the airport by the regional Parliament Deputy Speaker, State Ministers, the administration of the Baidoa town, security officials and cultural elders. The two leaders had taken part in the inauguration ceremony of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud which took place in the capital Mogadishu on June 9. The Presidents from Kenya, Djibouti and Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed also graced the occasion. During his stay in the capital, Lafta-Garen held series of meetings with President Mohamud, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre and Speaker of the House of People Sheikh Adan Madobe where they agreed to foster good working relations.
