Somalia's Auditor General meets with World Bank Project coordinators in Mogadishu
Somalia's Auditor General Mohamed Mohamud Ali and the Special envoy for Drought Response, Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame held a meeting with World Bank-funded projects coordinators. The meeting took place in the capital Mogadishu on Wednesday. The meeting centred around on drought relief and bolstering drought emergency responses to the Somali people across the country. Also featured in the meeting was an In-depth briefings from the Coordinators of some of the key projects that will form part and parcel of the drought mitigation response efforts in several areas across the country. The World Bank coordinators promises to take a leading role in the mitigation of the ongoing devastating drought which has gripped the Horn of Africa Nation following the failure of rainy seasons for four consecutive years. Somalia is currently experiencing the worst drought conditions in decades.
