Prime Minister- designate Hamza Abdi Barre meets with Former Presidents and Prime Minister ahead of his vote of confidence in the coming days
The appointed Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia Hamze Abdi Barre has on Wednesday held meetings with a number of Somali leaders as part of his consultations and support for his nomination as the next Somali Prime Minister
Hamza Barre, accompanied by members of Somali Parliament and Senators, paid a courtesy visit to Somalia’s former President Mohamed Farmaajo.
Farmaajo wished him well as he embarks on his journey to serve the country as the 21st Prime Minister and in performance of his herculean responsibilities.
Hamza later met with Ex- President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and former Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Khaire.
The duo wished him success as he awaits the Somali Parliament’s confidence of vote and success in his national duties.
The Prime Minister – designated has in the past days been meeting with Somali Federal Parliament members in a bid to them ahead of his vote of confidence in the coming days.
A confidence vote for the appointed Prime Minister failed to take place on Wednesday morning following the absence of both President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud who is still in Abu Dhabi on an official working visit, and the Somali Parliament Speaker Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur alias Madobe who was in Nairobi but returned to the country lareer in the afternoon.
Hamza is set to take over from outgoing Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble who has been at the helm of the PM docker since September 2020.
