Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble visits Mogadishu seaport to inspect its operations
Outgoing Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has on Tuesday visited the Mogadishu seaport.
The Prime Minister visit was tailored on seeking and getting a first-hand experience and information of the operations at the seaport.
The outgoing PM applauded the efforts by the workforce and personnel at the seaport for their incredible services and discharging their duties in accordance with the expectations of the Somali government.
However, he called on them to enhance the quality of services at the main seaport in the Horn of Africa Nation for the benefits and sake of clientele and investors.
The port which was constructed by the Italians before Somalia gained independence from Rome in 1961, is about 2,500 meters long with several piers where big ships anchor, and a sandy beach to the north.
The harbour has contributed to the economic flourish in the East African Nation that is buckling under myriad challenges including persistent drought and insecurity that has destabilised the Federal government.
