PM Mohamed Hussein Roble meets with UAE new President Mohamed Bin Zayed
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble of Somalia held talks with the new President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday, May 20. PM Roble’s meeting with President Mohamed Bin Zayed of the UAE took place in Abu Dhabi. The outgoing Prime Minister is in Abu Dhabi, UAE to convey official condolences from the government and people of Somalia on the death of their leader Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed. PM Roble also delivered messages of greetings and condolences from President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to the new President of United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al- Nahyan. UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al- Nahyan was the President of the UAE since 2004, but his role had been largely ceremonial since he suffered a stroke in 2014. The departed leader has already been laid to rest and accorded a state funeral. The ministry of presidential Affairs of UAE had declared 40 days of National mourning with flags flying at half-mast from Friday, and workers both in Public and Private were given three days of holiday.
