Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble receives at his office Jubbaland State leader Ahmed Madobe

Outgoing Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has on Wednesday received at his office, Jubbaland regional President Ahmed Madobe. Madobe thanked the outgoing PM for successfully managing the protracted elections despite the numerous hurdles and obstacles. Jubbaland was one of the State that had controversial elections after two parallel elections were concurrently held in Garbaharey and El-Wak towns respectively. However, Speaker of the House of People certified the MPs elected from El-Wak district as the legitimate and eligible lawmakers who will represent Gedo region in the next four years. This is the first that Ahmed Madobe is stepping into the compound of Villa Somalia in the last two years after differences emerged between him and President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo. Somalia's elections began mid last year and has suffered major hurdles which dersiled the completion of the elections on time. Supremacy battle between the Somali leaders especially the offices of the Presidency and Prime Minister contributed significantly to the dragging of the elections for so long. The Horn of Africa Nation however completed the long overdue elections on May 15 with the election of the Presidency culminating into long protracted electioneering period which stagnated development and humanitarian aid.
