Former Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud meets with Senate Deputy Speaker Abdullahi Ali Hersi in Mogadishu
Former Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has on Thursday evening received at his official residence in the capital Mogadishu, the second Deputy Speaker of the Senate Abdullahi Ali Xersi, "Timacade". They discussed the importance of conducting a free and fair elections particularly the upcoming Presidential elections. Somalia is set to hold Presidential elections on May 15 according to the 17 member committee mandated with conducting the Presidential elections. The Committee announced on Thursday the Presidential candidates will address a joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament on on 11-12 of May. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is among the Presidential aspirants who are seeking to unseat the incumbent President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo who is also expected to defend his seat for the second term. Somalia concluded parliamentary and House leadership elections after two years of push and pull among the top Somali leaders over the management of the elections.
