Somalia evacuates over 340 nationals from Ukraine
Somalia's Federal Government has announced the release of three hundred and forty-eight displaced Somali nationals in Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign affairs said three hundred and forty-eight in Ukraine have been evacuated to neighbouring countries with others continuing with their education.
''The Federal Government of Somalia is pleased to announce the release of three hundred and forty-eight displaced Somali nationals who have been stranded in Ukraine and along its borders including some due to lack of documentation.'' the ministry said in a statement.
Through the statement, the Ministry stated that it has facilitated the placement of sixty-five students in higher education institutions in Hungary — after registering their interest with the Ministry.
The government advised Somali citizens living in Ukraine to consider leaving the country and stay away until further notice.
According to the United Nations, a total of 977 were killed (196 men, 144 women, 12 girls, and 27 boys, as well as 42 children and 556 adults whose sex is yet unknown)
