PM Roble holds meeting with Special Representative of the Chairperson of AU for Somalia Francisco Madeira and AMISOM top commanders

Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has on Thursday held meeting with Special Representative of the Chairperson of the AU Commission for Somalia, Francisco Madiera and AMISOM top commanders. They discussed Wednesday’s terror attacks that happened in Mogadishu Beledweyne towns and the AMISOM role in securing the ongoing House of People elections in the country. The meeting comes after the country was rocked by series of attacks in Halane Camp near Mogadishu's Aden Abdulle International Airport and the tripartite bombings in Beledweyne town that left multiple death including female MP Amina Mohamed Abdi and many others injured. Al-Shabab Militant group claimed responsibility for the attack in both in Mogadishu and Beledweyne towns. The deceased MP Amina Mohamed Abdi was laid to rest in the capital Mogadishu after her body was airlifted from Beledweyne in the morning. PM Roble led the funeral prayer at Mogadishu’s Airport for the departed MP Amina Abdi that also brought together leaders from across the political divide. Former Presidents HassanSheikh Mohamud and Sheikh Shariff Sheikh Ahmed , Ex-Premier Hassan Ali Kheyre and other senior government officials have also attended. Amina will be remembered for her courge in defending for the rights of the oppressed and has since last year in June been advocating for the right missing and allegedly "dead" Female intelligence officer Ikran Tahlil Farah who was kidnapped near the National Intelligence Headquarters in Mogadishu. She went to Beledweyne town to defend her seat in the ongoing parliamentary elections in the town.
