PM Roble leads the country in giving a state send-off to late MP Amina Mohamed
Somalia's Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble today led a funeral prayer at Mogadishu’s Airport for the departed lawmaker Amina Mohamed who was killed in a suicide attack in Beledweyne. Prime Minister Roble prayed for Allah’s Mercy and Jannatul Firdows upon the deceased Amina Mohamed as her body was brought to Mogadishu. He also sent his condolences to the deceased family, friends and the nation at large. Among other leaders who took part in the Janaza prayers of slain MP Amina and ex-lawmaker Ali Abdi Dhuhul are Presidents Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Sheikh Sharif, Ex-Premier Hassan Ali Kheire among other senior government officials. Amina was an outspoken critic of the government and had accused the authorities of trying to stop her from running for parliament, partly for advocating for an investigation into the killing of Ikran Tahlil Farah, a female intelligence officer who went missing in June. According to HirShabelle state president, Ali Gudlawe 48 people were killed in two attacks on Wednesday evening in Beledweyne town. Al-Shabaab group which is fighting to overthrow the Somali government said it was behind the attack in Beledweyne.
