Committee appointed by PM Roble to evaluate the situation in Garbaharey arrived in Kismayo, Jubbaland State
The members of the committee appointed by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble to evaluate the situation in Garbaharey town in Gedo region have on Wednesday landed in Kismayo town the capital city of Jubbaland State.
The committee which was led by its chairperson Omar Mohamed Abdulle Dhagey was received at Sayid Mohamed Abdulle Hassan in Kismayo by members of Jubbaland State Electoral Commission and ministers from the regional State.
The committee is from tomorrow onwards expected begin their tasks of assessing the situation on the ground in Garbaharey and hold series of meetings with stakeholders and members of the public from the region in a bid to come up with a comprehensive report on the situation in the town.
The 7- member committee have been tasked to evaluate the situation in Garbaharey and how parliamentary elections can be held in the town which serves as the second voting constituency for Jubbaland State after the capital Kismayo.
The visit by the committee comes even as the governor of Gedo region Ahmed Bulle Gareed announced on Wednesday that they will oppose the committee appointed by PM Roble and will not acknowledge or accept their task and recommendations..
