Suicide Bombing Kills 10, injures multiple others in central Somalia

At least 10 people have been killed and multiple others wounded after a suicide bomber blew himself up at a tea shop in Beledweyne town on Saturday afternoon. The suicide bomb blast struck at the tea shop near Hiran regional headquarters in the central Somalia town of Baledweyne injuring more than 10 people according to eyewitnesses. A police officer who requested anonymity told Dalsan among those killed in the suicide explosion included Abdirahman Keynan, the Deputy District Commissioner for Social Affairs. Authorities in Beledweyne town which is some 345 km north of Mogadishu have not yet commented on the attack. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack but Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab group has carried out similar attacks including last week attack on a minibus carrying election delegates in the capital Mogadishu. The latest attack comes amid preparations for the HOP86 which is being contested by former spy chief Fahad Yasin in Beledweyne town.
