Minister Abdisaid discusses illegal migration and human trafficking with FM of the Hellenic Republic in Brussels
Somali foreign affairs minister, Abdsaid Muse Ali has held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic in Brussels, Varvitsiotis Miltiadis. The two ministers discussed on the sidelines of the EUAUSummit in Brussels and the illegal migration and human trafficking, as well as the death of Somali nationals frozen to death in Turkey near the borderline with Greece. Urged 🇬🇷 to not politicise migrants, to uphold Int’l law & safeguard human dignity. Underlined that 🇸🇴 is ready to cooperate with 🇬🇷 to address illegal migration. ''Underlined that Somalia is ready to cooperate with Greece to address illegal migration,'' he added. Minister Ali is representing Somalia at the 6th European Union-African Union Summit which will run between 17 and 18. The 2022 Summit aims to launch an ambitious Africa-Europe Investment Package, taking into account global challenges such as climate change and the current health crisis. The leaders will also be expected to hold deliberations on tools and solutions to promote stability and security through a renewed peace and security architecture. A joint declaration on a joint vision for 2030 is expected to be adopted by the participants.
