Military court sentences to death an SNA officer over killing of civilian in Mogadishu
A Somali National Army officer was today sentenced to death after a court in Mogadishu found him guilty of killing an autorickshaw driver in Somali capital, Mogadishu in 2019.
According to a statement from the Somali national Army (SNA) court, Mohamud Dhiblawe deliberately gunned down Awil Jama who was at the time driving an autorickshaw around the national stadium in Mogadishu on August 17 2019 and fled from the scene.
Dhiblawe was later arrested by security forces on December 2021 after the military court issued an arrest of warrant against him in November 2021.
The court ruled that Dhiblawe will be executed by fire squad however, he has 30 days to appeal against the ruling of the court..
