HirShabelle President Chairs Cabinet Meeting
The president of Hirshabelle state Ali Gudlawe Hussein on Sunday chaired a weekly Cabinet meeting in which key issues related to the regions security situation and elections were discussed. The cabinet meeting also focused on the widespread drought in Hirshabelle that has thousands of people as the situation worsens in several parts of the country. The President briefed the Minister of Internal Security on a comprehensive security plan and the status of counter-terrorism operations. On Saturday, the regional state president and his by his Vice President Yusuf Ahmed Hagar Daba-geed, chaired a security meeting in Beledweyne town. The meeting discussed the current security situation in Hiiraan region, Beledweyne, strengthening and bolstering security in the city as elections for the Lower House, which is slated for Beledweyne, draw nearer. The meeting was also attended by AMISOM top officials who briefed President Ali Gudlawe on the planned security operations in the coming days to secure the town ahead of parliamentary elections. The regional leader Ali Gudlawe instructed the security officers in the town of Beledweyne, which is the capital of Hiiraan region, to guarantee and maintain security.
