PM Roble chaired NCC meeting focusing on drought, elections and security

Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble on Wednesday evening chaired a meeting of regional State Presidents via zoom and which was attended by all the five regional heads of State and Banadir governor who is also the Mayor of Mogadishu Omar Filish. The meeting focused on hearing reports and updates from the regional heads on the progress of the ongoing parliamentary elections and the security situation in their areas of jurisdiction.The drought conditions in the regions was also brought to the fore. A statement from the office of the Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble outlined that:"Prime Minister @MohamedHRoble has on Wednesday evening presided The #National Consultative Council Zoom meeting that focused on speeding up ongoing elections of House of People, security and the dire drought conditions in the country." The meeting comes hot on the heels of a looming deadline previously set by the National Consultative Council Assembly in Mogadishu on January that all Parliamentary elections should be concluded by February 25. Regional States continue to strive to beat the deadline though some regions have not yet announced the Lower House elections in their second constituencies except Hirshabelle and SouthWest State.
