PM Roble meets with Saudi Ambassador to discuss ways of mitigating drought
Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble on Wednes held a meeting with the Saudi Ambassador to Somalia to deliberate ways of assisting the Somali people who have severely been affected by the drought. “The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Mohamed Hussein Roble, received in his office the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Somalia, HE Ahmed Bin Mohammed Saleh Almuwalad and the two discussed strengething the ties of the two brotherly countries. ”said a statement from his office.
The meeting comes after the PM Roble held a similar meeting he had with businessmen, religious leaders and international ambassadors yesterday on drought relief efforts to combat with the drought that has and continues to severely affect the people especially those living in central and Southern of the country who have been adversely affected by the drought.
The UN projects that 3.5 people are in extreme hunger after three consecutive collapse of rainfalls in the Horn of Africa Nation with some of the areas facing dire driest season ever experienced in 40 years.
