Somalia President Farmajo holds phone talks with Qatar's Emir
Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo on Wednesday held Phone conversation with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani over diplomatic and bilateral relations.
The two leaders discussed the strengthening of the bilateral relations between the two Nations and strengthening cooperation. “President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo held a phone conversation on Wednesday with Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Gulf country’s leader Tamim bin Hamad held a phone conversation with Somalia’s President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo as Qatar faces stiff competition from UAE whose diplomatic relations has been restored in recent weeks. “During the phone call which HH the Amir received from HE the Somali President, the two sides reviewed the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and prospects for enhancing them, in addition to the latest developments in Somalia,” Qatar News Agency (QNA) said.
The diplomatic relations between Qatar and Somalia has had a significant development since President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo came to power in 2017 and Qatar has been providing support to the fragile Horn of Africa Nation in renumeration of the military and undertaking development projects and rehabilitation of government institutions.
Qatar and Somalia have had a remarkable cooperation and development that reflects the mutual coordination between the two sides in the regional and international forums on issues of common concerns to the benefit of the two sides..
