Nine MPs elected in ongoing Lower House in Puntland, Galmudug and Somaliland
Puntland, Somaliland and Galmudug have on Thursday morning elected nine MPs respectively in the ongoing Lower House elections across the country as regional States work around to conclude elections before the deadline set by the National Consultative Council Assembly. Puntland State have elected three MPs since morning in elections that is taking place in the capital Garowe.One woman was elected. Those who clinched seats in Puntland are Mohamed Abdirahman Hayle, Hirsi Jaamah Gaani and Fardowsa Osman Egal. Somaliland like their counterpart in Puntland State elected three MPs among them one woman. They are Ifrah Mohamed Awad, Said Mohamed Mohamud and Ismail Sheikh Bashir. Galmudug also elected three MPs in the ongoing elections in Dhusamerab.Among those elected with easy race are former Banaadir regional police commissioner Sadak Omar Hassan alias Sadaq John. Others are Mohamed Ibrahim Ali and a female, Qaali Ahmed Diiriye. Elections for the remaining seat in Galmudug is underway in Dhusamerab. Somalia is racing against time to complete elections which had missed its deadline completion three times due to power struggle between the top leadership brass of the country who have been engaged in accusations over who is derailing the electoral process.
