Somali prime minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has strongly condemned the bomb attack targeted government Spokesman, Moalimu who sustained injuries.
He is in stable condition, according to the PM office Al- Shabaab militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack on Moalimu.
The suicide bomb attacks barely come days after 10 were killed and scores of others were injured in a suicide car bombing targeting a UN security convoy on a road outside the Aden Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu's Waberi neighbourhood on Wednesday.
Al- Shabaab militant group later claimed responsibility for the attack on Wednesday and said that the suicide bomb blast targeted white men who were passing Waberi neighbourhood.
Al- Shabaab is trying to overthrow the central government of Somalia and has in recent weeks staged several attacks in Mogadishu, Galmudug and Hirshabelle states where casualties of both the militant group and Somali government military were confirmed.
This also comes amid a build-up of tiff between President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble who have been feuding over the management of elections since last year after the president announced he had suspended the powers of the Prime Minister leading to blockade of the PM from the office which Roble termed as the attempted coup against a constitutional government..
