President Farmajo in close door meeting with Sadaq John at Villa Somalia
A closed door meeting is ongoing at Villa Somalia between president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and former Banadir police commander Sadaq John.
Reliable sources reaching Radio Dalsan says the meeting comes prior to an earlier meeting between EX- NISA boss Fahad Yassin and Sadaq John who has been fierce critic of president Farmajo after he was sacked following his stance against the extension of President Farmajo by the lower House MPs in May last year.
Galmudug president Ahmed Qoorqoor who is a staunch ally of president Farmajo is said to have brought together the current National security advisor of the president Fahad Yassin and Sadaq John in Moqadishu.
The lawmakers passed a unilateral decision to extend the mandate of the president by two years but later rescinded the decision after mounting intense pressure locally and internationally.
President Farmajo has in the previous nights been meeting with the officers drawn from National Salvation Army who have been against his stay in power.
The series of meetings are seen as attempts by the president to cajole the renegade soldiers in a bid to bring them to his camp amid build up of tension in Moqadishu.
President Farmajo and PM Roble are entangled in a fierce political feud following the suspension of the Prime Minister from office and later being denied entry into the his office located at the presidential palace which elicited various reactions from both the international community and local leaders who urged for de- escalation of tension and acceleration of elections..
