PM Roble, presidents of Jubaland and Puntland discuss accelerating ongoing elections
Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has met with the presidents of Puntland and Jubaland states in Mogadishu on Friday. The talks with Puntland president Said Abdullahi Deni and his counterpart Ahmed Madobe centred on the upcoming National Consultative Council (NCC) meeting expected to kick off in Mogadishu in the coming days. The meeting also discussed the acceleration of the ongoing Lower House elections, according to government spokesman Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu. ''Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble met with the Presidents of Puntland and Jubaland Said Abdullahi Deni and Ahmed Mohamed Islam in Mogadishu tonight to discuss the preparations for the upcoming National Consultative Council,'' government spokesman Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu said. In the coming days, the National Consultative Council meeting, which was cancelled last week following a political feud dispute between President Farmaajo and Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, is set to officially open in Mogadishu. The presidents of Jubbaland, Galmudug, Puntland and Hirshabelle are currently in Mogadishu to attend the consultative meeting. The International Community are also said to Attend National Consultative Conference.
