PM Roble Meets Opposition Leaders Over Elections

Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble on Saturday held talks with opposition leaders in Mogadishu. According to the office of the Prime Minister, the meeting covered accelerating and conducting inclusive and credible elections in the country. ''Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble met with members of the council of the presidential candidates to discuss the acceleration, transparency of the elections ahead of the December 27th National Consultative Assembly meeting in Mogadishu,'' office of the prime minister said. The premier is also expected to meet with the civil society group to deliberate on overcoming the challenges of the electoral process. The meeting comes a day after the opposition welcomed the decision by prime minister Mohamed Hussein Roble to convene a national consultative forum on the country’s elections. This is the second time the premier held talks with the opposition leaders over the ongoing parliamentary elections and presidential elections in this month.
