PM Roble Inspects NISA Headquarters In Mogadishu
Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble on Tuesday inspected the headquarters of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) days after ending the standoff with the president. The premier accompanied by security Minister, Abdullahi Mohamed Nur were briefed by Yasin Farey, the acting director appointed by president Farmaajo last month during the race for the spy agency's control. ''Prime Minister Roble, accompanied by the Minister of Internal Security, inspected the headquarters of the National Security and Intelligence Agency, listening to reports from the interim director and agency officials,'' said government spokesman Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu. The Prime Minister called on NISA officials to increase vigilance, saying that without intelligence the country could not be protected from external and internal enemies. '' I urge you to be vigilant and send my condolences to the officers and staff who lost their lives defending the nation," Roble said. Roble also said that NISA is the only agency whose staff collects donations to help in times of need, promising to join the fund and that he is now paying the annual dues.
