Egypt Beats Somaliland 10-1 In Deaf Games
Egypt kick-started their Africa Deaf Ball Games Qualifiers campaign on a high as they thumped Somaliland 10-1 in their opening match of the tournament at Kasarani Stadium. Both teams finished the game with a man less as Ahmed Rasuk and Yasin Hamada were given their marching orders for Somaliland and Egypt respectively in the second half. The result sees Egypt top Group D with 3 points, with Gabon yet to play. Atman Ahmed opened the scoring for Egypt in the 8th minute to give the Egyptians an early lead and depict the real situation of the game. The goal gave Egypt the will to go for more goals and the pushed more, with the second goal coming 19 minutes later from the spot, with Elbana Hassan covertly cooly to double the lead. Ismail Elsheshtawy did not wait long to grab his first for the game, and Egypt's third, as he lofted the ball for a beautiful chip three minutes after Elbana scored the second. Somaliland were in utter shambles and went for an early substitution in the first half, bringing in Mohammed Alasis for Mohammed Ahmed. Ismail got his second for the game, and Egypt's fourth towards the end of the first half to see Egypt go into the break with a concrete advantage. Somaliland came back with a different strategy as they sought to reduce the count but they went on to concede six more goals. Somaliland's coach Maxamed Masud made changes in his goalkeeping department, bringing in Aman Suhail for Adam Suhaib. Ismail completed his hattrick shortly after the restart before Ahmed Mahmoud made it 6-0 from the penalty spot. In a rather dull Somaliland, Ahmed Said held the light and scored the consolation for his team though it did not inspire them to go for more. Ismail struck again in the 80th minute with a well-taken goal to sink Somaliland further. Substitute Farez Mostafa scored the ninth with five minutes left on the clock, with Athman Ahmed and Hussein Ahmeid completing the rout.
