PM Roble meets with the newly appointed NISA chief in Mogadishu

Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble held talks with the country’s top security officials including newly appointed National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) chief Bashir Mohamed Jama, Police and Somali National Army commanders in Mogadishu. The prime minister instructed the Attorney General of Somalia’s Military Court to start a formal investigation into the case of Ikran Tahalil’s death. The PM ordered NISA and Police commanders to support the court in this case. The Prime Minister also instructed the new Director of NISA and the Benadir Regional Security and Police Commanders to fully support the court in the discharge of its duties, as there have been challenges previously complained by the Ikraan case commission. The meeting came after the premier dismissed NISA chief, Fahad Yasin over the death of a female spy agent. The move by the premier was rejected by president Farmaajo citing a number of articles in the constitution and directed Yasin to remain in office.
