Somalia's COVID-19 infections surpass 16,800
The number of COVID-19 infections in Uganda surpassed 16,800 after the health ministry reported 105 new cases from 1,976 tests conducted over the last 24 hours. The country has now recorded a total of 16,892 confirmed cases. The cases include affected 51 males and 54 females. Nine new deaths were also reported in the same period, taking the country's COVID-19 fatalities to 927. 64 more people were reported to have recovered from the disease hence the total number of recoveries is now at 8,141. The Horn of African nation is experiencing a second wave of the virus which prompted the government to launch the COVID-19 vaccination exercise for its civil servants last week.
