Somalia and Ethiopia Discuss Security Cooperation

Somali National Army Chief, Gen. Odawa Yusuf Rage has met with the Ethiopian National Defense Forces Chief, General Berhanu Jula in Addis Ababa. In a brief statement, the Somali National Army (SNA) said Odawaa discussed security cooperation between the two countries his counterpart. ''Somali National Army Chief, General Odawa Yusuf Rage and Ethiopian National Defense Forces Chief, General Berhanu Jula held a meeting in Addis Ababa. The two Commanders discussed ways to strengthen the security cooperation between the two countries,'' the statement read. Prior to his visit to Ethiopia, General Odowa met with senior Egyptian military officials in Cairo. The meeting comes as there were reports of Ethiopia pulling back some of the troops who’ve been helping Somalia’s government in the fight against Al-Qaeda linked militants Al-Shabaab. Ethiopia has thousands of troops in Somalia as a part of AMISOM, the African Union force fighting Al-shabaab
