PM Roble in Mombasa to hold talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta

Somalia Prime Minister Hussein Roble and his delegation arrived in Kenya's coastal city Mombasa on Tuesday, ahead of talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta. The trip came just days after Kenya's Foreign Affairs Minister Raychelle Omamo visited Mogadishu, and held talks with her Somali counterpart and prime minister Roble and agreed on cooperation. During the talks, the two ministers agreed to "expeditiously" organise the third Session of the Somalia–Kenya Joint Commission for Cooperation. In a joint meeting between government officials of both nations in areas of security and trade is expected to be convened soon in a bid to address the ease of movement of people, goods and services across the common border at the same time provide practical measures to counter illicit trade and illegal migration. Historically Kenya and Somalia have enjoyed good diplomatic relations. In recent months, however, diplomatic relations between the two countries faltered after Somalia accused Kenya of interfering with her internal affairs and subsequently ejected its ambassador and recalled her’s back to Mogadishu. Kenya and Somalia are also currently at the International Court of Justice, (ICJ) over a maritime dispute which both countries lay claim.
