Jubaland Leader Meets With Election Dispute Resolution Committee In Kismayo

Jubaland State President Ahmed Mohamed Islam Sunday met with members of the Electoral Disputes Resolution Committee at the State House in Kismayo. The President commended the Commission for its efforts to ensure free and fair elections in the country and to address the concerns raised by the elections. ''Jubaland State president Ahmed Mohamed Islam received at the State House the members of the Federal Electoral Dispute Resolution Committee,'' Jubaland state said in a statement. Members of the Federal Electoral Dispute Resolution Committee, for their part, praised the President of Jubaland for initiating the election of some members of the Upper House of Parliament in their constituency of Jubaland and called for the rest to be held. Most of the members of the Federal Electoral Dispute Resolution Committee in Kismayo, Lower Juba region will travel to Baidoa in the coming hours to witness the election of some members of the Upper House which will begin tomorrow in Baidoa.
