2 Siblings Killed In Hargeisa House Fire

Two children were have died following a fire in Hargeisa's Laynka Bilayska neighbourhood Sunday night. Firefighters said when they arrived the house was fully engulfed in flames and burning intensely. They aggressively attacked the flames and entered the house to find the two victims, both siblings, inside. Somaliland Fire Brigade Commander, Ahmed Mohamed Hassan "Sawahil" said the siblings were already dead before the fire was put in control. He added that four other people were rescued with injuries. He said that the main obstacle for the fire brigade in providing assistance was the roads leading to the area, which was difficult for the firefighters o overcome and it took them several hours to get there. Due to traffic congestion, Commander Sawahil said they were unable to prevent extinguishing the blaze. He added that they could not immediately enter the area due to traffic congestion. Officials led by the new mayor of Hargeisa, Mr. Abdikarin Ahmed Mooge, also went to the scene to offer their condolences to the victims.
