Somalia’s Indirect Electoral Commission re-elected as the new chairperson ahead of the country’s parliamentary and presidential elections scheduled for next year. Also re-elected is Mowlid Matan Salad is Deputy Chairman of the Federal Electoral Commission. Irro has received 14 votes and his rival Liban Ahmed Hassan has got 10 from a total of 25 members voting. ''Somalia’s Election Commission elects by secret ballot, Mr Mohamed Hassan Cirro as Chairperson of The Federal Electoral Implementation Team after gaining 14 votes while his rival Liban Mohamed Hassan received 10 votes,'' Somali Government Spokesman Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu said in a statement. Last week Somali leaders agreed to hold a presidential election on October 10 after two days meeting in Mogadishu.
