PM Roble, FMS leaders and opposition figures meet in Mogadishu
Galmudug State President Ahmed Abdi Kariye (Qoor-Qoor) Tuesday night hosted a dinner for regional state leaders Prime Minister Mohamed Hussin Roble and members of the opposition in Mogadishu. Leaders in attendance at the dinner included Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, Puntland President Said Abdullahi Denni, South West President Abdiaziz Mohamed Laftagareen and Jubbaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam and opposition presidential aspirants. ''Prime Minister of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble attended a dinner hosted by Galmudug President Ahmed Abdi Kariye for the Leaders of the National Consultative Council and some of the opposition candidates,'' Media Adviser to the Prime Minister Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu said in a statement. The federal government and regional state leaders on Tuesday announced a new timetable for the delayed elections after meeting in Mogadishu two days. The leaders agreed that the country’s long-delayed presidential election will be held on October 10 while elections for the upper house will commence on July 25, and the lower house between August 10 and September 10.
