Jubaland leader arrives in Mogadishu for FGS-FMS meeting over electoral process

Jubaland State President Ahmed Islam Madobe has arrived in the capital Mogadishu on Saturday for a meeting scheduled 27, June. Madobe alongside his delegation ware welcomed at Aden Adde International Airport by Ministers, members of both houses of parliament and other dignitaries. Federal Member State heads of Puntland, Galmudug, Jubaland, South West, HirShabelle and the Governor of Banadir region and Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble are set to meet Sunday for consultations on security and elections in the country. The meeting will also be attended by the Technical Committee appointed by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble to coordinate the implementation of the election agreement. Somali Premier last week invited leaders of the federal states for a meeting in Mogadishu to review the recently adopted electoral agreement ahead of elections. According to the May 27 Agreement, 101 delegates will elect one MP meaning 27,775 delegates will elect the 275 MPs. The FMS parliaments will elect the 64 Senators who, together will together with the 275 MPs elect a new president in a joint session.
