Fighting In Parts Of Middle Shabelle Region Cause Displacements

Dozens of families have fled their homes following heavy fighting that has been raging for weeks in parts of Raaga Ceele district of Middle Shabelle region. According to local officials, those families displaced by the fighting are living rough with no food or shelter. Raaga Ceele District Commissioner Omar Ali Nur told the media authorities are struggling to help the displaced families and that it is getting extremely hard for the administration to help the needy families and urged for urgent humanitarian aid. The DC said the fighting caused casualties even though none of the local displaced families have been wounded. Most of the casualties are from the two sides fighting, government forces and Al-Shabaab, who have both been engaged in heavy fighting of late in the district. DC Nur said the displaced families need urgent humanitarian assistance and urged aid agencies to intervene and help the needy families fleeing war and conflict.
