PM Roble Calls for National Consultative Assembly to discuss Elections

Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has convened a conference with regional leaders in the capital on Saturday. The leaders of Puntland, Galmudug, Jubaland, South West, HirShabelle and the Governor of Banadir region are among invited for the consultative talks ahead of the election top on the agenda being the ongoing electoral process. ''Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble invited the regional state leaders for a National Consultative Assembly in Mogadishu on Saturday to discuss the electoral process since the May 27th agreement and the acceleration of the remaining tasks,'' office of the Prime Minister said in a statement. On May 27 Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble alongside leaders from the regional states agreed to meet regularly to hold free and fair polls in the country. The leaders agreed to hold an indirect election system, clan elders were will select lawmakers.
