Norway to open permanent diplomatic facility in Mogadishu

Norwegian government said it reopen a diplomatic facility in Somalia to facilitate official and service work. Norway's ambassador to Somalia Elin Bergithe Rognlie said the office would work to facilitate formal employment and service delivery and added that the Norwegian Immigration Service had officially recognized the Somali passport. The ambassador's statement came after she recently met with Somalia's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Balal Mohamed Osman in Mogadishu. The ambassador also underlined that her country is ready to support the upcoming elections. In recent years Somalia has regained its diplomatic status in the world and the international community.
