Southwest State Leader Meets With Members of CPC

Southwest State President Abdiaziz Laftagaren has met with members of the council of the presidential candidates in Mogadishu on Saturday night. Wadajir Party leader Abdirahman Abdishakur and Council of Presidential Candidates (CPC) Chairman Sheikh Sharif Ahmed were among the members who met Laftagaren at Decale Hotel. 'I had a meeting with the President of South West Abdiaziz Laftagaren and we discussed the general situation in the country & national election issues,'' CPC chairman Sheikh Sharif Ahmed said. ''We thanked him for the meeting and for his role in the efforts to hold free and fair elections in the country,'' he added. All of the Federal Member States (FMS) leaders are now in Mogadishu for the much-anticipated meeting with Somalia's federal government to aid finalize 17 September agreement. President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo tasked Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble with leading the country’s preparation for the delayed elections. The first phase of the National Consultative forum kicked off on Saturday without the attendance of Farmaajo in Mogadishu.
