Garasbaley DC killed in landmine blast outside Mogadishu
A landmine explosion in the outskirts of the Somali capital has killed the Garasbaley district commissioner on Friday. The roadside mine targeted a vehicle carrying Abdirahman Garyare, the district commissioner of the Garasbaley area and claimed the lives of four people. ''The Benadir regional administration extends its condolences on the death of the late Abdirahman Ahmed Ali Garyare,'' Benadir region said in a statement. No group has claimed responsibility of the attack but Al-Qaeda affiliated group Al-Shabaab have carried responsibility for similar attacks on government officials in the past. Early this year three people including Garasbaley deputy district commissioner alongside two of his bodyguards were killed in a landmine explosion.
