Farmaajo in Kinshasa to hold talks with DRC President

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo arrived in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Sunday evening. The president will be there for a two-day visit. According to a statement from the president's office, the president's visit is aimed at boosting bilateral relations between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The President and his delegation will discuss with their Congolese counterparts the promotion of diplomatic cooperation between the two governments. The delegation will also visit during their stay there, they will meet with their counterparts in Congo. “The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia HE Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and a delegation led by him arrived in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo where a two-day visit began,'' the statement read in part. The President and his delegation were warmly welcomed at the Congolese International Airport by Congolese officials who expressed their commitment to the development of bilateral relations between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The President's visit is aimed at boosting diplomatic cooperation between the two countries and at the continental level in the areas of security, economy, poverty eradication and extremism. During their stay in Congo, the diplomats accompanying the President will hold talks with their counterparts and other African Union officials.
