Water Shortages Hit Mudug Region

Reports from Mudug region indicate that several areas in Southern Mudug are grappling with water shortages as a result of the prevailing drought conditions affecting both humans and livestock. Residents of the Baraag Ciise area in Bacaad Weyne District told the media that the situation is dire since water sources such as berkeds or underground water tanks have run dry compounding their already dire situation. In an interview with the BBC, local resident Salad Cise Mohamud said both people and livestock were at risk if the situation does not improve or urgent assistance is received.
