Qoor-Qoor in Mogadishu for poll talks
Galmudug State President Ahmed Kariye Qoor-Qoor has arrived at Aden Adde International Airport from Turkey on Tuesday. Qoor-Qoor arrived in Mogadishu for the sixth round of electoral talks with the federal government and other regional state leaders. The delegation led by the Galmudug leader was welcomed at the airport by officials from the federal government. Last week the leaders of Jubaland and Puntland states arrived in Mogadishu with advance heavily armed with guns and Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPGs) security team. The sixth round of talks between the federal government and the regional state leader is expected to take place at the Aden Adde airport in Mogadishu to find a way of implementing the September 17th pre-election deal which was signed last year. The UN security council on Friday called on the Somali political leaders to resolve their differences and hold elections as soon as possible. Somalia was supposed to hold parliamentary elections late last year and presidential elections on 8th February but differences between the leaders of the federal and regional governments delayed the polls.
