SNA repels al-shabaab attack in southern Somalia

The Somali military has repulsed an Al-Shabaab attack on SNA bases in Luq town of Gedo region in southern Somalia. Military officials told Radio Dalsan that the have reportedly stormed the base from different directions, prompting fierce gun battle with the Somali military. The attack took place on Sunday after Alshabaab raided SNA bases in on Sunday night, leading to a fierce gun battle that lasted for hours. The SNA forces managed to repulse the attackers. According to officials, the fighting caused casualties on both sides. The local residents in the town confirmed the clashes between Somali forces and Al-Shabaab fighters. The attack comes barely two days after Al-Shabaab militants killed one person and injured several others including the military official in the capital Mogadishu.
