One killed in grenade attack targeting COVID-19 awareness campaigners
One person has died and two others injured after a roadside bomb a vehicle with loudspeakers used to promote COVID19 prevention measures was hit by a hand grenade bomb attack on Wednesday. The incident took place in Karaan neighbourhood of Somalia's capital, Mogadishu. Among those wounded include a soldier and Ministry of Health employee. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack but Al-Qaeda linked group Al-Shabaab has carried out similar attacks in the horn of the African nation. The attack comes barely less than 24 hours After the militants claimed responsibility for Tuesday mortar shell attack in Halane base camp which hosts UN and AU forces. No injuries were reported on Tuesday mortar shell attacks.
