Jubaland leader arrive in Mogadishu ahead of poll talks

Jubaland Ahmed Islam Madobe has arrived in the capital Mogadishu, ahead of the sixth round of the electoral talks. Madobe and his delegation were welcomed by a senior government official at the Aden Adde International airport on Tuesday. His counterpart Said Abdullahi Deni is expected to arrive in Mogadishu on Wednesday morning. The electoral talks between regional state leaders and the federal government is expected to take place near Afisyoni in Halane base tomorrow. Though talks still face obstacles over demands raised by the two regional states leaders and opposition, the main agenda of this round would be the signing of the implementation process of the September 17 deal and to support the Baidoa Framework agreed to by a joint technical committee. Somali Prime minister Mohamed Hussein said the government will continue holding dialogue on the electoral process to implement the pre-election agreement reached by leaders of the FG and FMS last year September.
